Does anyone know what this engine is? It appears to have been manufactured around 1920, it is a 2 cycle with twin opposed cylinders with horizontal Bosch flywheel magneto. The crankshaft is geared by crown wheel and pinion and exits the crankcase at 90 degrees so that the engine is stood on end vertically so to speak. It is fitted with a reversing and feathering propellor the control for this being effected by the sloping rod to the left of the engine. It appears that there is no float carburettor but the mixture is regulated by a thumb screw clack valve and a lever on the intake. Lubrication appears to be by a pump driven from a worm gear on the main drive shaft. Any ideas?!

I think a photo of this engine was posted here a few years ago. I don't recall what what said about it, but Dug1 or anyone who wants to could search and try to find it. Use the search link at the top of the page. I'm not sure what the most effective search term would be in this case... I took a quick look but couldn't find it. |

I think it might have been an ebay link. I just looked through them and we need to try and capture the pic/s from the add. There are a lot of ebay ads and the links don't work any more since ebay removes them to make room. So in the future lets always try to get at least one of the pics and post it so it isn't something we look at in the future and say hmm wonder what that was. |

Andrew, I think Ernie has a grea idea! Also how about a new section to capture and store ebay ads on engines of the past? Would make it easy for quick reference |

When I see them I will try to post them. Yes I didn't think of that, how about a catagory just for eBay pics. |
