The good news is the marine museum is 15 miles south of all the tornado damage. The bad news is we have 3 dead and 95 injured. Two bridges and several roads where closed too.Traffic is moveing slowly on 301 through Laplata.

Best way from the north is??????
301 to Annapolis to 2 south or 4 south? I took 2 last year and it seemed that I was never going to get to Calvert.
What do you suggest?
by the way who is going to attend?
Thanks and see you all on Friday
Ernie

Well i take 2 south from 50/301 but its heavy traffic and they are rebuilding part of the road now.Its allso one lane each way for a long streach so a lot of traffic can back up behind someone slow. Some people like to take 301 to upper marlboro then take 4 on down ,this way its doal or triple lanes all the way.If comeing from the south be sure to take 234 off of 301 to lenardtown.south of town take rt4 left.Try to avoid lapta rt6 and rt 231 and the benedict bridge, lots of tornado damage and the bridge is being repaired, single tracking with one lane used by both directions. Before the storm traffic was backing up a mile each way.

The Fay & Bowen is almost ready for Calvert. It's been taking some midnight oil to get it done. My big problem, at this time, is trying to get it running. I tried last night, but all I could get was a few pops. Maybe an old salt with lots of knowledge, like Ernie, might be able to help. See you all Friday evening.

Keith,

Wow... looks great! Sometimes a deadline is a good way to get a project finished!

What parts did you have to make? The flywheel?

I won't make it to Calvert... hope you all have a good time. Send me some photos!

Regards,
Andrew

First the weather looks very promising for the weekend at CMM.. I have had a lot of experience useing 2 and 4 getting to Solomons from the north. I suggest that all things considered take 301 from 50 south to Upper Marlborough. Take 4 straight to Solomons. Make sure you get in the right lane at the approach to the Thomas Johnson Bridge so you don't have to go over the bridge and make a U turn on the far end. You will want to go off 4 to the right and under the bridge. When you come out from under the bridge, keep to the left and the Museum entence is going to be across the street in front of you. From there you are on your own. If the front gate should be closed go to the left about 150 feet and take the road around the houses to come in the back entrance to the parking area which is reserved for the engine show. First come first serve but we will fit every one in and look forward to seeing you all. If you have problems try my cel phone 301-904-9046 and I will try to help. Coming from the south Take 301 over the Potomac River Bridge to RTE 234 to Leonardtown. This will avoid the LaPlata, Hughesville, Bendidict Bridge, Tornado and construction hold ups. OLary has it right. About a mile south of Leonardtown RTE 4 Ts off to the left. Take 4 straight to Solomons over the Thomas Johnson bridge. As you come down the east end of the bridge stay in the right lane and take the first ramp to the right. As you come down the ramp you will see the road to the back parking lot to the museum straight ahead. Proceed to the rear entrance to the parking lot on your right and you will have arrived.
