Richard Dodd has sent me the files with the color poster and application forms. I will convert the forms to pdf format and post them on the site with links from the home page. I will probably do it this weekend.

The dates are April 30 - May 1, 2005.

Here is the link to the Calvert Maritime Museum, but I can't find the show info on their site yet.

I have posted the information about the Calvert Maritime Museum 2005 Boat and Engine Show.

There are two PDF documents, an "Exibitors Letter" and a "Registration Form". They are both linked from the following page (near the bottom):

Calvert Show 2005

Let me know if you find any mistakes or have trouble opening the pdf files.

The pdf files require that you have Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) installed on your computer.

I just noticed that there is now information posted on the Calvert Museum Website too at this location.

Andrew,
They all opened ok for me.
Please NOTE the comment in the info letter about the block of reserved rooms. The hotel is sold out except for these. If you don't mention the museum as stated in the letter you won't get a room.
Hope to see a lot of you there
Ernie

I am looking forward to seeing you all!!!! We will leave to be there with the John Arthur on Thursday. Incidentally, does anyone know the depth dockside at the Museum? Maybe the last Palmer on the Bay will attend?

Mr. Excited...

Everyone should avoid the bay bridge if you can comeing to calvert. The state has been redecking the bridge over the winter and closeing lanes. They have announced that all the concrete was poured thin and below standard and will have to be replaced. So now they are starting over and the lanes will be closed deep into the summer includeing some on weekends. How many people can the John Arther carry across?

Thanks for the update, Larry. I can say that the Bay Bridge is a mess!!! Sorry, but we didn't really plan on taking the John Arthur across the Bay Bridge though...

I am trying to reach Richard Dodds to see about water depth George. If it isn't suitable there perhaps Chris Wahburn will be most helpful finding you a good docking space. How much draft do you need. If the inner harbor is not suitable perhap the museum launch can run people out to the JA. I have a way to go on the Joe's "Barg" cosmetically but hope to have it there. Larry has a good point about using the bay bridge for the next few months. If you don't like the harbor tunnel there is always the outer bridge crossing but it sometimes gets shut down due to high winds so you have to go around the Baltimore beltway counter clockwise. No propane in the harbor tunnel.

Thanks Mr. Day. Looking at the charts, I think we should be fine to get right up to the Museum; right in next to the Tennison. If by chance things don't work that way, we'll dink in the last bit. High tide is right at daybreak, so on Thursday afternoon when we arrive it'll be a little close for the 8 foot draft. We may anchor out and nudge in Friday morning with the tide. It's a lot of work, but all part of the fun!!!! See you all there.

Those bringing trailers should have a way of secureing them.Last week while the motercycle racers were sleeping in a local motel about 10 trailers and contents were stolen.A number of guys have lost trailers right out of their yards.I have to take my tractor to the fairgrounds before going to calvert.Do you think i should take it home or on to calert. Its a 1937 Silverking.

WOW!!!! What a great show!!! It reminded me of a family reunion of sorts, but with less bickering!!! It sure was great to see everyone and enjoy the company of like-minded friends. Thanks to everyone and especially the Calvert Marine Museum for hosting such a wonderful event.

George IVy

ps I'll post pictures when I can and look forward to seeing others!!

The John Arthur was fantastic. Watching the big old Atlas run was something else. Also sitting on the fantail watching dish tv and consuming a beer or several was neat too.
George thanks to you and your crew for the hospitality.
I missed the ride DRAT!

The John Arthur was a real treat. George and his family deserve a whole lot of "Atta Boys" Our LA friends were in the thick of it with a lot of interesting beautifully restored engines and a very interesting "Bateau" that had spent 30 years under water. Amazing restoration. Just a terrific show and we are looking forward to next year already.

The "bayou crew" made it back to Louisiana Monday night, no problems this time. We realy enjoyed the show, seeing all the Oldmarineengine guys was worth the trip. It was good to see George and the John Arthur again, enjoyed the ride and meeting his dad. Keith Dupuy, pronounced Do-pwee, came over this evening and we unloaded the bateau (bat-tow). Figured I'd put in the cajun pronunciation after Keith Billet told me how much he enjoyed Prejeans restraunt down here, still don't know if he will remember to call it Prey-zhawns.The rest of the engines are staying on the trailer for a local show this weekend.

Arrived back home to S. Fla yesterday, to repeat some of the comments above I'd like to thank Richard Dodds, Jean Phelps and the Calvert Museum Staff for their hospitality and hard work to provide such a wonderful Show. And to thank each and every one of you old engine guys for coming to the show with your old iron and talking and sharing it all. The weekend reminds me of that old commercial on television " It just doesn't get any better than this ". Richard

Well...I guess I'll be the last one to put this thread to rest(finally had access to a computer that actually works)...Even thought the ride down to Calvert stunk, once we arrived it was OOOH so worth it. And despite the rain, Shelley and I really enjoyed seeing every one of you again. Next year, I'll be able to pull a small trailer behind the little winnie, and bring all four of my Palmers down. Thanks to Richard Dodds and his staff for providing such a great venue for this event.
George, my hat's off to you and your crew for preserving such a wonderful piece of maritime history known as the John Arthur. The trip on her was the icing on the cake. Thanks so much.
To the boys from Louisiana: I'm so glad you all made it to the show. Now if we could make the distance between La. and CT several hundred miles shorter!
Dick and Barbie, Shelley and I thank you for your gracious hospitality and look forward to seeing you at Mystic. I will be able to attend BOTH days this year!(boat trip is later in the month). Mike Collin
