Bonarq, Are you trying to find out what type of carburetor it was? Do you know what size or horsepower the engine is? Regards, Andrew |

Many of the 1 cylinder Gray engines were equipped with the Schebler D carb. Virtually all of the literature that I have seen shows the Schebler. The Schebler was a very commonly used on both marine and stationary engines. There is carb site that has Scheblers at reasonable prices. Does anyone have the URL for the carb site? It was located in the southwest, I think. The other consideration for your engine is to determine if it is a 2 port or a 3 port engine. If it is a 2 port, you'll need the carb valve assembly too. miro |

I am searching for parts to Marstal one cylinder. I need a head gasket and a carburetor. Are parts available? |

Miro is quite right many Grays had Schebler Model D carburetors but in fact Gray pushed Krice carburetors as their preferred units in the one and two lunger days. Krice carburetors are not easy to find and Schebler Model Ds are. Now that Paul Gray is making modern plastic floats it should make a lot of Model Ds with no floats available at a lot cheaper price as the float tends to be the sticky item to find. Pauls are lighter and smaller so they fit in much easier than the old style cork floats. |

I hope to be making floats for the Krice this winter. I have two engines with Krice carbs and need to make the mold tooling for the floats. Thanks, Dick for the kind words on the floats ! |

My recent GRAY single cylinder aquisition is identical to the model pictured on page 213 of Wendel's "American Gas Engines since 1872" page 213. Graysons book suggests it to be a model "R" or model "S" based on the 1908 date quoted by Wendel.Does anyone have a simular model or photo showing exhaust side of this engine. This one is complete except for the exhaust Flange/manifold.It appears to have black paint traces-does anyone have literature specifing paint color? |
