Hi All,
I've been given a marine motor, 2 cylinder, diesel, with a mercedes part number (632 011 0001) on the block. I have been able to find out almost nothing about this motor and wondered if anyone out there could help. The injection pump number is PES2A 50C320 LS1224. I've been told that a slighty different number PES2A 50C120 LS1224 is associated with the 1970 OM632 engine, but this, as I understand it, is a 4 cylinder. If anyone out there has ANY info on this motor, please e-mail me. What I'd REALLY love is a rebuilding manual, as I want to rebuild this motor and turn it into a generator.

Do you know anything else about it?
There was a "M 202 B" Mercedes diesel, marine.
- 2 cylinder
- 55 HP at 1200 RPM Max (I think...)
- 140mm x 210mm
That is the only 2 cylinder of the Mercedes-Benz marine diesels that I see in the info I have. I don't have an overhaul manual for it... just specs.
I don't know that you can rely on the casting numbers for much. Isn't there a nameplate on the engine?
You mention OM632... are you sure you don't mean OM636... that was a 4 cylinder. |

The modified number was what came up on a pump test plan that we got from Bosch directly through a friend. I have passed on to Rob what info we could find, but this is a really odd engine with little information published on it. |

In the mid 1970's I partnered with a friend to build a boat. When he left the partnership to get married he took the engine that we had purchased for the boat as his $ share. It was a M-B 2 cyl. diesel of the OM series that was being "marineized" by a marine engine company (maybe Stokes of Coldwater, Michigan?) during that time. I believe that it was based on an M-B engine used in refrigeration units on semi trucks.

The motor actually does have a plate riveted on to the edge of the block at the bell housing end, but I can't make anything out on it bacause of the viewing angle and years of dirt/oxidation. I may be able to get a better look once I can look at it straight on, but for now I don't want to wipe it for fear of destroying what little legibility remains. Also, I did get a manual with the motor, for an OM 632, printed apparently by Mercedes, but the manual was for a four cylinder engine and had been sitting in the elements for too long and had mostly returned to the solid piece of wood from which it was made. I was only able to seperate it in like 4 places, even after soaking it in warm water. Of course, Mercedes denies ever having printed such a thing. Does anyone know of a source for a "fully functional" OM 632 manual? I guess that would be a good place to start. |

I bought a boat with my father a couple of years ago, a sailingboat (one-off type but looking like a Koopman Coaster, 8 m long and 2.2 meter wide) I very nice steel sailing boat with a lot of work and a Mercedes-Benz 2 cylinder diessel engine. I neither do not have a operation-guide from OM 632, I also use the one of the OM636. If I can help you with a copy, let me know!! If you can find more information about OM632, I look forward to receive. It is a very strong engine and never left me alone! |

Coul you send me a picture of this engine? If it is really a M202B I can maybe help you. The M202B has about 50hp and a displacement of 5,5 liters. |
