We received the following from David Ault in Maine:
quote:I have been refurbishing a 1907 Palmer (original) fan tail launch with its 1907 Palmer C engine. I have a source that will make the brass cover that fits over the hot head C engine....are you interested in any? The more we can get, the cheaper. The fellow who offered to spin them is in Michigan. He did some beautiful work for me on antique auto lights.

Dave has had some response to this and he is getting five of the head covers made. He also asks:
quote:Andrew: Do you think there's any need for the brass cap that covers the key on the flywheel? I have one on my engine that could be duplicated. Might want to ask on your website.... Dave

Period correct Gib key covers on Palmer engines are a final touch on restorations that to date have been problematic. Shape, thickness of material, dia, depth, all seem to have been running changes. Dave has a source in Mich. that will spin whatever is required. Any comments? There is economy in numbers! |
