Cool! I will see what I can dig up on this one. Is the oiling system design fairly unique on this one or standard for the period? I'm still really new at this. |

Scott, feel no obligation to spend time looking up info on this unless you just want to! I post these ads to make this site more interesting and give us engine guys something to look at and think about here. It's fun ! > The oiling system here is the drip oilers on the top front, some of the more expensive engs used the square box looking mechanical oilers. this eng is 1908, in 1909 Pierce as in Pierce -Budd wrote an article in Power Boating magazine about the lubricating of two cycle engs by mixing the oil into the gasoline. Some Mfgrs picked up on this system right away others slowly as it proved itself and one Co. Lathrop I don't think ever did fully endorse this idea ?? |
