As I continue to wrestle with getting my P-60 to run continually, I am at the stage of needing to rebuild the carburetor and install a new rotor, cap, points and wiring on the ignition side of the engine. What would be a source for parts/labor to accomplish this? Would I just deal with the Navistar (IH) people as if it was a Cub garden tractor? Or is there a better way? As usual your help is greatly appreciated, maybe by next summer I canget it out of the slip. Thanks again, Bob |

Bob, First, the engine is NOT the garden type which is the Cub Cadet. It is a cub tractor with C-60 engine. You can get the ignition parts at a good auto parts store. Eddie |

Eddie, Thanks for the part numbers, my local shop has them in stock except for the points, which we have to physically compare. They did ask me if my "panel of experts" have a part number for the coil wire and spark plug wire set? I told them I would ask. Can you help more on that part number?? Thanks, again Bob |

Bob, Napa Auto Parts handles some tractor parts. They might be able to help you with the wires. Always refer to International Harvester Cub tractor WITH C-60 ENGINE NOT THE CADET. Some auto parts stores sell individual wires and you can make up your own set. I wound up making up a custom set from a high performance wire kit which I highly recommend. I found that a 45 degree spark plug boot is good for the aft spark plug wire to get up over the 7/8" water hose. Always use anti-sieze on spark plug threads when installing spark plugs. Eddie |

Eddie I suggest you stress the IHC Cub LoBoy tractor. It has the C-60 engine but many of the mechanics and parts guys go by the LoBoy as the key to the engine you want. Don't know why but many of these guys unless you have a part number don't know what you are talking about. I know as my son is a IHC parts manager and he runs into this all the time with old time parts. About the easiest way to find parts for the Cub LoBoy C-60 engine is Valu-Bilt Tractor parts. At www.valu-bilt.com or 1-888-828-3276 Incidentally I don't own any stock in Valu-Bilt. |

Richard, Good point. Thanks. So far I got by dealing with tractor suppliers stressing C-60 engine but noting LoBoy is another aid. Eddie |
