Bob from Indiana PA sent this in. Hopefully he will add some additional information below.
quote:I recently acquired this engine and know little about it. It came from a shed in central Michigan. Any info you may have will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Bob Indiana, PA

The engine has only one marking on it - M-2-2 is cast on the base of the jug. The flywheel is 10" dia. and has 4 holes. The bore is 3". The exhaust manifold is missing and the spark advance needs some work. I was told this engine was run briefly about 10 yrs. ago. I don't know if the rope pulley is original or someones add on. Any comments? |

It looks like a Caile Bantam. Look at the web page in the link below. On the left scroll down to the "Bantam" section. I have one and had it in a boat for a while. They are a nice running engine. http://caille.8m.com/ |

Thank you for responding to my inquiry. Ernie identified the engine as a Caille Bantam. I was able to find some photos and information about the manufacturer at a Caille engine website. |
