I have a Chrysler 440 (330 hp) in an Arabian, mounted reverse (V-drive), that was rebuilt in 2002 (new rings, bearings, cam, etc.) It has started to send smoke out of the pcv grommet and the breather cap as well as the oil dipstick. It smokles very little while in neutral, but under load it is very smokey (I lost a quart of oikl in less than an hour). I noticed considerable smoke coming from the cam shaft cover, but then I tightend it and that stopped, exacerbating the venting form the valve cover outlets. Any ideas? |

I would expect a broken piston. |

I would suspect broken piston rings, could also be bad valve guide seals |

You have blowen a hole in a piston. I had thius same problem in a car. Given the amount of smoke you described and the conditions that it occurs, it is probably a piston that has blown apart. I would drain the oil and check for pieces. Also, remove the oil filter, cut it open (a can opener works well) and check the filter elements for metal. |
