we found this engine in back of my dad's shop. id tag y400a530602r/tap cl in 12/ex 20/last #was on edge of tag 997755. since my dad at different times restored everything from vintage jaguars-tractors to boats we don't have a clue what this motor was for. it has power steering pump-torque converter and what looks like it might be a hydraulic pump on it. no idea whether it runs or not-any help would be appreciated-i really hate to scrap it if it's saleable. thanks |

That is a y series engine that fits either a massy harris pony or pacer tractor.I don't have one,but the ponys don't have hydrolis usually. So it should be a 112ci engine for a pacer that has the hydrolics mounted to the engine. |

The engine in question is a Y112 (112 cid) & a (Y Series Model) Continental. Designed ONLY to be used on a Clark Forklift (Front End Machining is special) |

It was used in the massy harris 444 tractor. At 1500 rpm it was 49 hp.The industrial rateing at 2400 is 79hp.I am sure someone restoring a tractor would love to have it.Guys are always complaining about finding parts for thease old diesels. |

Something broke. It conld be the distributor shaft or the cross pin that holds the gear on or it could be a broken cam shaft.Normally the timeing gears don't break. You will just have to investigate untill you find the problem. If the distributor doesn't turn you likely don't have oil flowing either. |
