I've found heating supply wholesaler's to sell threaded flanges in a number of pipe thread adapter sizes that fairly well match to cylinder exhaust and intake surfaces on the single cylinder marine motors. Gray and Detroit based engine in this case. The flanges are typicaly used to adapt in line water circulators to varied pipe sizes and are available as a seperate item for little money.Some grinding to match the profile of the cylinder machine surface but a great starting point. The one for my Major Jones (Detroit clone)was exact and even the right paint color. Available cast or stamped; the cast flanges look most original. |
