Good day all,
Dick Day had bypass surgery on Friday March 8th. He is doing well and should be going home today or tomorrow March 11th or 12th. For those of you who do not know know Dick, he has a wonderfull collection of mostly Palmer Marine engines. The problem is that Palmer just didn't make much small. So to get to see the many varieties that Palmer made you really must try to visit Dick at his home in Southern Maryland. That way you get to see the BIG stuff. The little ones make it out to Mystic, Calvert and other shows.
I am sure as soon as Dick gets home and feels up to warming up his PC he will be back on line.
Have a good day
Ernie

Dick Day is certainly one of the giants of this hobby.

In additon to collecting and restoring Palmer engines, Dick has researched the company in a thorough and scholarly manner, he has indexed engines, reprinted manuals and catalogs, written extensively, helped many other collectors identify and restore their engines, and supported and developed attendance of marine engines at many shows (including the new Calvert County Show).

The amount of information that he has gathered and shared about Palmer engines has enriched the hobby for us all. It also serves as a model for what we each could do with a particular engine manufacturer.

I wish him a fast recovery!!!!!! Get well soon!

Regards,
Andrew
