Trying to restors a 1929,80' vessel that has a Johnson-Strob(or Storp?) 4 cyl. (12" dia, 12" stroke) direct drive, air start diesel. The engine had two phase fuel injectors (low pressure for starting and high to run) but they are missing. The engine is basicly clean and sound with new bearings, seals, etc. but but I have no idea where to find the injectors or any other parts if needed. Any ideas or thoughts would sure help. Thanks, Tom |

Hi there Thomas Brown. By direct drive, air start I presume you mean direct reversing. The 12x12 cylinders doe's not sound right for that era. A number of questions first, where was the engine / ship built, if you are not sure of the make of engine how do you know that those " new parts are in it? how about the two " phase " injectors? and can you give more details?? I really would like to help but need more info. regards ray. |

I have a 1971 Johnson 100 Hp 4 cylinder (outboard) and am having problems getting the ignition to operate. I have replaced the amplifier, coil, ignition switch, clipper and point set. I have a manual on this motor and have done the prescribed test sequences, to no avail. The wiring at the motor is also correct per the manual. Do you have any ideas? |

ken, you should try posting that question on the board at marineengine.com in the johnson/evinrude category. This board is for older inboards, not outboards... Thanks |
