This is a late 1920's installation of a St Lawrence. The boat was restored about 1980 then put into storage until about 3 weeks ago when Glen E. bought it. The intersting feature is that it is the first St Lawrence that I have seen fitted with a recoil starter. engine

I bought a parts Dispro/boat unit a few years ago
that has the same kind of recoil starter. The engine was a single cyl regular Dispro. Is there anyplace I could get details of the installation?
(I got all the parts in 3 big boxes)I'm especially interested in details of the "dashboard" with the various controls and how to mount the recoil.
Thanks
Tom

Am I correct with this starter means the engine is right handed with a left handed prop?

The man to contact about DisPro is Paul Dodington. You can find him at www.disappearingpropellerboat.com. He's probably done about 75 - 80 restorations and re-builds and has a good stock of spares. He also has probably the best record of serial numbers and what they mean.

I have an 18' dispro which is probably one of the last built. I think it was built in the 1940 era.
The last time I had it out the universal joint broke and the engine ran wild before I could get it shut down. I have babbet to make new berings but no experierce at pouring them.
The hull has been out of the water for too long and some of the planks have developed splits in them. If anyone has any ideas of how to overcome this problem I would be glad to hear from you.

Are there Dispro boats for sale?

I had all the hardware, but gave to a person, who was building one.

I've lost touch and would like to start again.
