I have just purchased a Flathead Ford Marine Engine, it has factory 21 stud aluminum heads. The transmission has foward, reverse and neutral. The water pumps are different than any other fltahead that I have ever seen. Does anyone know anything about this type of engine. Thanks, Paul |

Paul, Is there any indication what company did the "marine coversion" of the engine? A namplate or a name cast into the manifold for instance? Regards, Andrew |

Is it by any chance a Ford Flagship engine - a flathead 6? If so, there should be a nameplate on the top of the transmission at the 'rear' of the engine. I have a manual. |

Does anyone know where I can get the necessary parts (transmission, manifolds, oilpan etc.) to convert a Ford flathead V8 to marine use? |

I have a flathead ford v8 engine that was setup for marine use. There are alot of special parts that go with the engine, intake manifold is tilted to allow for it to be vertical. Marine waterpumps, impossible to find replacements with fubber impellers, exhaust manifolds that are water cooled. I am building a hotrod marine engine |

David, Can you post a photo? Some Flagship engines were converted Hercules. |

I have a Gray Marine Phantom Six 125 which I believe is the Continental F-244 a 244cu in 6 with a (and here is where I am unsure) a integral type of exh and intake manifold with two 63 series carbs.(Zenith) I need a manifold and carbs with flame arrestors. Wondering what availibility and cost are for them. Would appreciate any info. Thanx much, Derus |
