I am trying to get information on where I can purchase a new starter for a Palmer M60 engine. Does anyone know of a source where I could purchase one, or have the old one rebuilt? Also, any idea on prices along these lines? |

Seems to me that the standard IHC Cub LoBoy tractor starter should work. Not Cub Cadet. I have at least one useable starter but you have to be careful as I think the Coast Guard now requires special marine starters on marine engines. Don't know if this applies to an existing engine or just new construction? |

The Cub Low Boys I've seen had a starter-generator, is this what you're talking about? The regular Cubs had a starter to the flywheel ring gear. Cub Cadets also used the starter-generator on the early Kohler engines, I see them on e-bay. |

The valu-bilt cataloge lists the differant starters used on the cub tractors.They sell them outright or on exchange basis.www.valu-bilt.com 104 to 169$ Post your starter number if you want me to look. |

John,
People don't bother rebuilding starters for cars much anymore but in a case like this if you find an old pro that is really good a rebuild job will solve the problem for longer than we'll be here.
