I spoke with Scott yesterday. Yes the Mystic show is on but things will be different than in previous years due to virus issues. As Scott stated above a lot depends on how many exhibitors sign up. I know in the past I have been one of the exhibitors that usually signs up at the last minute because I don't know what I plan on displaying. The Mystic show has always been pre-register. However in the past they have never turned anyone away at the gate that didn't pre register. This may not be the case this year. Don't find out the hard way that they can't let you in due to virus issue required planning because you didn't pre-register. If you are planning on attending please pre-register. I bring this up because I am part of the management team for the New England Wireless and Steam Museum in East Greenwih, RI and we are trying to plan our annual show which is Steamup on October 3rd. https://newsm.org/ All of us that put on shows are trying to figure out constantly changing requirements and how to comply with them. So we are doing what we can to at least salvage some of the 2020 season. As everyone already knows a show season without shows isn't any fun. Link to the Mystic sign up page. It works real good and is easy to fill out. Yes I just registered. https://www.mysticseaport.org/event/antique-marine-engine-exposition/ Ernie |

Just in from the Mystic Seaport via e-mail Dear Exhibitor, In March, we sent out invitations for the 29th Annual Antique Marine Engine Expo at Mystic Seaport Museum taking place on August 15 and 16th, 2020. We hope you received yours, and we are looking forward to your registration. Our show is still scheduled to proceed on this weekend with some changes that will be implemented due to Covid-19. The following guidelines are how we are proceeding this year to put on the show, make it as safe for everyone as possible and still have a great time. One additional note, there will be no steam boiler this year. Due to the Covid-19 virus, there are additional guidelines that must be followed. Currently visitors and exhibitors are required to wear masks or cloth face coverings that completely cover the nose and mouth unless doing so would be contrary to the visitors health. Also visitors and exhibitors are expected to observe six-foot social distancing at all times. Please respect signage on the grounds, including social distancing markers. If you or someone in your party is experiencing COVID-19 CDC defined symptoms, you may not enter. Note that these policies are subject to change without notice as the situation demands. Please see our website at www.mysticseaport.org or social media feeds online for all the latest COVID-19 UPDATES and visitor guidelines before you leave home to come to the show. We are respectfully asking that you respond to this e-mail as soon as possible to let us know of your intent to participate in the show this year. In addition, if you are planning to exhibit, please register by August 1, 2020, in order to ensure space for your exhibits. We will make every reasonable accommodation for late registrants or walk-ins on show days. You are still welcome to load in on Friday morning between 7am-9am or Friday evening from 4pm until 5PM. Additionally; load in is available at 8am on Saturday and Sunday to enable you time for setup prior to our opening to the public at 10:00am. The show will close at 5:00 pm on Saturday and at 3:00pm on Sunday. Please contact a staff member if you have to leave sooner. You cannot drive on the grounds during public hours without an escort. The Bake Shop is currently closed. Please make your own arrangements for your coffee and breakfast. Other dining is available at this time for lunch on the grounds. Registration forms are available on our website: mysticseaport.org. Type Engine Show in the search field, hit enter and scroll to Antique Marine Engine Exposition. Click on this title. Send your registrations and any questions to us at [email protected], or call and leave a message at: 860-572-5302 ext. 5084, or 860-572-5341 Sincerely, Scott Noseworthy Engine Collections Manager |
