Anyone know how to interpret the specs on these pages? What plate number refers to and if the numbers pre-hyphen are consistent year over year and post-hyphen are those that change? I compared the number stamped on my crank w that of the one in this '42 fireball parts page and the prefix is consistent, but the suffix isn't. I can't really imagine having two different cranks year over year, but maybe? Or maybe it's to tell you the year of forging, but it's interchangeable? |

Okay plate number is the same as picture number referencing an image for n the exploded view of some component of the engine. Still not sure about the suffix of a part number |
