Sorry to here this. Dick had a good run, guessing he was 95 or so, was very sharp until the last year or so. He was great for the hobby, he had an eye for collectables before they were collectable. I always enjoyed the trips to his place. |

This is Dick taking a ride in Dave's Model T when he came to Louisiana for a visit in 2017. He was up to everything that went on, had a great time.

We have all, on this forum, and those that have attended either Calvert or Mystic experienced the knowledge and commitment to the history of early marine engines and the life of those early mariners. Heres to a wonderful, intelligent contributor to our country and our hobby. Keith |

Dick was a wonderful guy and an inspiration to me and anyone involved in this hobby. His legacy will live on through the research and documentation that he did as well as through his many friends that will remember him with fondness and admiration. Andrew Menkart |

Yes, like many others, it was through Dick Day's contact that I have learned so much and have met so many good people all over the world. All of his family were most welcoming to newcomers. His contribution will not be surpassed. The world became a better place because of his life. Miro Forest |

I've been looking for some Palmer history this afternoon, and Dick keeps coming up. So, two years on, he lives on. In this, like many preservation hobbies, there are a few real producers and many consumers such as myself. Dick was a super producer and he lives on in his work to the benefit of many others. |
