Hi Folks
New here and to owning a wooden boat. I have spent the last 1.5 years restoring a 1952 Century Sea Maid which I won at auction at the 1000 Island boat show.
I am having to install the foot throttle as the cable and mechanism is missing. Can someone help me buy letting me know where the throttle cable attaches on the three carbs. And also do I need to fit a choke cable? And if so where does that attach? Thanks in advance for your help kind regards Andrew |

A picture of the side of the engine would help. I know the single carb engines, and might be able to help if I can see a picture of your triple carb version. I would think you need a choke (you definitely need it on the single carb engines) |

There is usually an assembly that allows each carb to be set individually. and then the throttle cable is connect to the assembly at one point.

But it would appear that Jeff has departed from Parry - you could ask Cole Middaugh how to contact Jeff.
Another contact is Mike Windsor of Windsor Boatworks http://windsorboatworks.com/
He's worked quite a bit on this kind of boat and engine.
I also think that it is unusual to have a foot throttle.
Most boats of this era have manual throttles mounted on or near the steering column.

I checked these old Gray carbs and they not only don't have choke plates the the holes where the shafts go are plugged. |
