Hello marine engine enthusiasts,
My name is Joost Willekens and I live in the Netherlands. I am 24 years old and always working in my dad's truck company. We have alot of old stuff around there and I always like to discover those things. This time in my adventure I ended up in an old Red Wing marine engine.
It was not touched in around 30 years. Fortunate it was stalled inside all those years. When I asked my dad how the engine came there I had to listen to a story. My grandfahter and my dad pulled this engine out of a boat +-40 years ago en kept it all those years and never looked back to it. I really liked the history behind it and desided to clean it up and made some photo's.
When I was searching on the internet I could not find much about it. This webside and the Red Wing museum. I asked the museum if they had some information about the engine. Then I got a reply from the wilson oil company that the engine was shipped in 9/18/1926. Again nice to be hanging out with history. Such a long time ago! But I don't want to do anything with the engine. That's why I am posting this story here. I hope there is somebody who want's to buy this engine and to do something fun with it. As truck company we have experience with shipping to anywhere in the world. Unfortunately there are some missing parts, you can see in the photo's. Starter, carburettor, and maybe things I can not recognize. If someone is intrested in this engine please let me know!
I have to do a few post's because of the size of the photo's.
