I have a 6 hp, light , Lathrop almost ready to go, and have a few questions.
Is there a gasket between the igniter and the head?
How do you determine the gap in the igniter points?
I have read Dick Day's article on Lathrop oilers and wonder if I should extend the oil line inside the block to drip on the big end of the rod. My engine didn't have this and I don't know if they all did.
Does any one have an extra 90 degree priming cup, 1/4 i.p.s. that will fit this engine?
I have read most of the postings on this page, and found them very informative and interesting. I especially enjoyed the one from J. B. Castagnos on cutting a spiral gear on a lathe. That is way beyond my capabilities.

I would run 40:1 gas oil mix and don't extend the oil line inside the engine. I don't know if any had such an oil line dripping on the big end. ON mine there is a drip oiler on each cylinder that drips into a collector ring inside the crankcase and it in turn routes the oil to the big end inside the crankshaft. I would not depend on that in any case if it were my engine. YOu know what free advice is worth?!!! |

Thanks for the info on the Lathrop oil line.
I still am curious about a gasket under the igniter, copper or fiber, or nothing.
How do you know contact spaceing on the igniter?
