* Gives us something to look at here, they are random ads, what ever I happen to be working with at the time, Dont like logging on here to an empty page ! Jim, the little unknown you posted here a couple of times I have searched it thoroughly through my data base and no Results ( 2083 entries in data base currently)-- your engine is an old and rare one. Good Stuff * |

Richard, It's a neat little engine, runs good, and is very unusual with the hump on the back of the cylinder. It had an unknown carburetor on it that I also posted separately back in August. These are my only unknowns currently in my collection. Will give the Smokstak crew a shot. Thanks again for all you do, Jim |

One thing that strikes me in looking at these old adverts is just how quickly the technology advanced. From say 1898 to 1928 the changes were huge. If you were running an engine from 1908 in 1928 it probably still ran just fine, but a contemporary metaphor might be running a 386 computer with a 56K dial-up modem today. We look back and from this distance of time it seems like these engines were around forever, but their span in many cases was relatively short. Thanks for posting the adverts Richard; thsse posts don't always get individual recognition, but I'm sure we all enjoy and appreciate seeing them. |

Robert, when showing engines people are amazed that a 100 year old engine is still running. I tell people that they built these early engines to last a 100 years, they didn't realize how soon they would be obsolete. |
