Not sure about this particular boat but there are more to follow, this print was incorporated within his small 'catalogue' album, so I am certain this is one of his motors in application.
I believe this photo was taken from the Toronto Island residence with City of Toronto 'skyline' in the background.

...more to follow soon since there appears to be interest

Any idea of the name on the boat? Can you read the name at your end? This boat would be about 1906-1910 vintage or so. It is a period racing boat. If this is TO harbour about 1908 this boat might be Jack's Holden's Blue Streak, which was built as a racing boat for the Canadian Cup of 1908 and 1909. (Holden of Schofield-Holden Boat Works)

Cool I actually thought it was a harbour patrol chase boat, I will need to dig through my old stuff to see if I can find any more photos or glass plates showing this one, I assume the name would typically be on the stern???

Hi I can see this post is a little cold, but you might be interested or can help me.
I am near the end of the restoration of John Thornycrot's Scolopendra that was successful racing in Britain in 1903, and sold to Frederick Polson, who used for a while before selling to the Canadian Govt for use on the Cruiser Vigilant as a chase boat.
Have you ever seen photos of her, esp in Toronto, or at Penetang or Parry Sound. I can tell you more about her if its of interest. She is also mentioned with some info on Toronto Harbour in http://www.lesliefield.com/other_history/power_boating_in_toronto_1906.htmScolopendra on Solent Aug 1903

Those are great pictures. In the first picture you can see all the smokestacks on the waterfront. That is where all the foundries, machine shops, and boatbuilding was in Toronto. We are fortunate to have one of the twin Schoffield-Holden engines. Bruce

Oh my, that projecting drive shaft off the back of the force-feed lubricator looks like a invitation to disaster!
