We're OK here on the west bank of the Mississippi, many on the east bank are in trouble. Keith Felder and Pete Firmin both have water in their houses, never close to flooding before. Last report I heard was over 7000 displaced. My friend Jamie Hurry is stranded on I-12 since noon yesterday, was on his way with a boat to rescue his mother in law. |

when a bunch of us went down to MS with supplies for hurricane Katrina, I recall seeing water line on all the houses about 5ft up in the area we went to, and people by then had their soggy life belongings, furniture, and carpet heaped up on the lawn. Of course the houses got mold issues, shorted wiring and other things. It really is no joke. Godspeed to the victims. |

Cell phones aren't working, saw Jamie yesterday evening, they spent the night in the truck, daylight hours they were in the boat rescuing people, launched it off the shoulder of I-12. |

Talked to Pete Firmin, water is out of the house. no power, starting to get things cleaned up. All of his vehicles went under. Keith Felder was at the hospital with his wife, dehydrated and exhausted, water was out of the house, but they had to travel by boat to an emergency vehicle. His vehicles went under also. |

Thanks. A lot of people from our area are in that "Navy". They show 22 but there were hundreds, some still going. |
