Working on finishing the YT in time for Mystic. Cylinder has been honed, and new rings installed. Have completed valve job on the head. I have also tried to polish all the jewelry |

Amazing as a YT owner, cannot wait to see the finish pics.
My YT1 (and "nouveau-Dispro" project) are not going to be ready in time. In fact my YT1 and reverse gear is apart with almost all parts cleaned and case blasted and repainted. Just maybe that might make a good exhibit I just realized, that rarely would others see the actual insides... ok, depends on the schedule. Mystic 2016 August 20-22 |

Thanks Dick. Just finished second coat of varnish on oak engine bed. Assembling all water connections and pump tonight. Engine runs well. |

Jamie thanks. . If it were not for Keith and I drinking the French vanilla lattes (with whip cream) I couldn't have done it. Seriously I'm blessed and proud to know each and everyone of y'all. It's the fellowship between us all that makes this hobby so interesting and fun. Jb I'll have an extra happy juice in your honor since the LA gang won't be at mystic this year. thanks, like a bench grinder with cloth wheel?? I'm guessing car wax to protect the shine??

Chris as far as the polishing, use the search function. Dick Day wrote an article on polishing and protecting the finish. As far as I'm concerned you could use his brass as the benchmark. If I have heavily tarnished parts, I use a brass wheel on a bench grinder with VERY LIGHT PRESSURE. Then I buff, and for the final polishing I use a product called Autosol. |

To all of us that were in the military we DO KNOW that Brasso a rag and lots of elbow grease will also create a finished product that will blind you when out in the bright sun just like Jim's engine.
Everything in our latrine from the floor drains up was polished! Even the plumbing under the sinks and toilets that you couldn't see unless you got on your hands and knees and looked up.
I sometimes use Brasso with a polishing wheel instead of rouge. |

Start a new thread Titled Palmer YT 1 for sale.
Post your pics and what you are going to ask for it as well as other pertinent info such as condition,location and how it runs etc.
If you have trouble posting the pics start the thread and send me the pics. I will resize them and post for you.

The engine is in MI so there is a pretty good chance it is fresh water. It is not stuck.
