Haven't seen one of the four cylinder engines Richard, don't know if any survived. I would think at this time it was hard to compete against Model T conversions. Trying to figure the starting arrangement, Guessing pushing the crank forward engages the drive, a chain in the case turns the starting shaft. |

The Start mechanism is what caught my eye
with this ad. I think your description of its function is right on.
I looked at all my Lockwood photos- none of these
4 cylinder engines show up ?
Would be cool to find the first one !
