I've just bought a twin cylinder, horizontally opposed 2 stroke circa 1930s that is installed " through hull". No makers name anywhere. It has a tiler mechanism that operates by chain and sprocket. Has never been installed and runs like a watch. I've tried to upload a photo but no success. If anyone can suggest it's make or send me photo to compare I would greatly appreciate it. |

This may be what is called a Brittania "Middy" model. 1930 is the year. Pretty solidly built with a square (cast or at least feels like cast gas tank. Base plate to boat hull is round. I saw it used once in a child's boat in Muskoka at the lakes association show (not Gravenhurst). The boat was about 7 feet long and looked like a miniature runabout, just large enough for a 10-12 year old child. |
