Looking over a list of race boats on the Hudson River in 1904 got me wondering what the engines looked like. Engines such as Panard, Craig, Fiat and Gas engine power co engine. The boat "hard boiled egg" is said to have a Mors engine, not a Fairbanks morse? Anybody have photos?

Thanks. It's ses in the notes it was taken out of the boat in 1994, to conserve the boat. No boat name. Wonder what happened.

Jed. You may have already found the U-Tube video by typing Hudson River Race-1904 in Google showing these great old boats competing..

Nice photo. Gas engine power company is a hard name to search here, or any where else on the web.. I know the Rudder and other such magazines of the times covered these boats. But I've never been able to dig any up from the early days. Not that I'm even a speed guy, I just like the cutting edge of the day. The very early race boat engines are kind of a blind spot on the web. Bruce, I have seen that video. Very cool.

Gas Engine & Power Co. and Chas L. Seabury Co. were consolidated by 1900.

This 1904 ad is their first gas engine and trade name is "Speedway"
