I have a Model D and tried to replace the float. However I cannot for the life of me figure out how to hold the little nut which is under the float when the float is installed, and make up the little bolt to secure the float to the control arm. Any and all help and suggestions are much appreciated. |

You should be able to start the nut on the float out of the carb, leave it loose and wiggle it into place, align and tighten it. |

I may misunderstand the advice, so apologies if I have. There is a hole not a slot so There is no way to wiggle the metal tang into place on the float. I actually cannot even remove the old floaty6 . The nut spins in the float so I can't extract the bolt. |

If you start the screw in the float but don't tighten it the float arm will rotate, you can work the float into the bowl, align the lever and tighten it. |
