OK, I will not allow salt water through any old engine so that means a keel cooler with coolant. The trouble is then there is no "waste" water to cool the exhaust. Is there any such thing as a double section pump? One section for coolant, another to put raw water into the exhaust? Other ideas? Point the exhaust straight up through a small muffler?

I made a bronze pulley to fit between the engine coupler and the gearbox to run an old bronze Jabsco pump to cool the exhaust. By being in front of the gearbox it's always turning when the engine is running.

What about using the same coolant for everything, engine and exhaust and just a bigger keel cooler? Could run a double wall exhaust pipe is there such a thing, or can it be made with copper pipe and bushings?

One engine idea is the Palmer YT, it has a reciprocating pump. Would that make enough volume to cool the engine then the exhaust pipe?

How much of the exhaust pipe really needs cooling, all the way to the transom (or other exit point?)

Thanks
