The Kermath Sea Chief 4 cylinder is a 134.2 cubic inch engine with a 3 1/8" bore by 4 3/8" stroke. In 1942, it was rated at 61 HP. It is a 3 main bearing engine. In 1942, it is listed as having a 2:1 Paragon reduction reverse gear. I do not show this engine in 1939 or 1940 and after the war the name was changed to the Sea Jeep as this was a marinized Willys Jeep flat head four. Kermath still shows this engine up close to the end in 54 but not 55 and still as a 61 HP model. Cheers, Lew |
