Nice ad Richard. It adds more contradictions to what think we know.
Piston water pump in 1910?
Sheet metal reverse gear instead of cast housing?
And use of a primary timer off of the center of the intake cam?
This looks like the old series before it becoming the Model B. Prior to the letter series, the models were a HP Range. The 1906/7 four cylinder that I have is a model 14-18 for example.

I have been talking with Bud about something he found in Motor Boat mag. So this generated a couple questions that I would like to pose. I think I have a strong answer but would like a little reinforcement. Here we go:
1. When (what year) did Sterling go from model numbers of the HP range (i.e. Model 15-20) to model letters?
2. When was the first Model F introduced?

Danny Acierno emailed me this morning to add that Sterling went away from the letter models to name models in 1922.
I am seeing that 1910/1911 were the first years to show model letters and no longer HP ratings as their model listing.
