I got this Gray last night and took several pictures this morning that can be seen here:
http://buzzcoil.brinkster.net/MARINE/page103.html

Can you tell me its horsepower, the year it was built etc.........

The motor does not have a brass tag but the serial number is stamped on both cylinders and on the flywheel.

Thank you!

Here is one with the oilers and a 'racing' exhaust. It is #19R7966

It has a nut on the crankshaft; it looks just like Mr.Rouleau's. Would it be around 1911 as well?

I just bought this engine from Denis. Any info you can give me, or point me in the right direction would be great. The electrical setup would be a great help. I'm new to rebuilding/restoring these engines. Michael

I suggest you start by getting a copy of Dick Day's booklet on running Palmer gas engines. The principles will be basically the same for your Gray. You can order it here:

Michael, the Palmer book Dick recommends will give you a lot of info, Mr. Day put a lot of thought into it. These engines used a "buzz coil" ignition. Ford Model T coils were generally used, they are readily available. Here's a link to making your own, I made this for my boat when the wooden T coil drowned in a thunder storm, been using them since.

Thanks guys, this a great start. I'm looking forward to getting the engine running. I just have to figure out how to move around this board.
Again thanks,
Michael
