My Palmer BH25 has a paragon 12volt generator 449126. There are two leads that are attached to the regulator. One had been attached to the AC pin and the other to the AC pin above the BATT+ pin. I want to add a Bosch relay for monitoring the fuel pump. The question which lead from the generator is from the armature?

You say you want to monitor the fuel pump. I assume that it is an electric fuel pump. What is it you want monitor? ON, off, pressure? If all you need to know is "is it on", than a light in parallel with the pump is all you would need.

I sent Ernie pictures. He identified it as an alternator. I'd like to use the relay to switch the fuel pump on when the engine is running.

Hi Rick, I use a magneto on my PW-27. You ground the Mag to turn off the engine. So one contact on my stop/run switch grounds the engine. The other contact (it closes on run) grounds the fuel pump. The fuel pump has a hot 12 volt all the time. This way my switch ether grounds the engine or the fuel pump/and on my boat the exhaust air blower.
Using a 12 volt supply, to operate a 12 volt relay, to operate a 12 volt fuel pump is not the way to go. Not unless your gen is 6 volts and your fuel pump is 12 volt. If that is the case, I can help you with that too.

Very clever. The ground from the pump to the ground wire on the mag going to the ignition. The positive to the BATT pin on the regulator which is fused in the panel. Thanks all.

Rick, My regulator has 4 pins. F,A(on the bottom),Bat,and L. L is for running small loads. Mine is rated at 6 amps. your pump should run off this L (positive) terminal. the Bat. terminal is used for the amp meter. If you put the pump on the Bat. terminal your meter will not read correctly.

I think I spoke to quickly. If the ground from the mag is connected to the ground that turns the engine off then to is not grounded when it's running so the fuel pump is not grounded. I have to look at the ignition switch and see if I can use it for positive or negative. The panel is such a cramped space. It may be that I have to add another wire and switch.
But making progress.
