I have had some correspondance with Bob Webb who is involved in organizing the Maine Boats & Harbors Show at the harborfront in Rockland, Maine, August 8-9-10. He is looking for exhibitors to bring old marine engines for display at the show. I will copy his latest email and contact information below. The web site for the show is: http://www.maineboats.com/boatshow/boatshow.shtm
Quote:Hi, Andrew, Thanks so much for getting back to me. I am working with John Hansen of Maine Boats & Harbors to put together this exhibition on the history of power in lobsterboats and other small watercraft in Maine. We'll start with the old "one-lungers" and hopefully be able to show many other types of engines, including the larger four-cycle, four and six-cylinder in-line marine engines, and we are looking for a good example of a marine conversion of an automobile engine (or two...) as well. We are also interested in the development of diesel powerplants. The exhibition will be held as part of the Maine Boats & Harbors Show at the harborfront in Rockland, Maine during August 8-9-10. We would like to have the engines on exhibit during all three days of the show, if that is possible. The magazine is already doing a lot of promotion and I will forward to you a file they sent to me concerning the development of the boat show. I would say that anyone who would be interested in exhibiting in the marine-engine portion of the exhibition should contact me at the address below, or best by e-mail at [email protected] . Phone calls during working hours only, please. I appreciate your help in getting out the word to the right people, and if I can provide any additional information, do get in touch. Many thanks, Bob Webb Bob Webb Richmond Webb Associates P.O. Box 356 Phippsburg ME 04562-0356 [email protected] (207) 389-2477 (daytime only, please)

I recently bought a 16 foot 1957 Whitehouse fiberglass boat. It came with a 63 Evenrude.Motor needs a new fuel pump, mint other than that. Now after I pulled the motor out of the shed, it's home for almost17 years, in the dust was another motor. The old rude had a friend. The name on the top is "waterwitch", made in the early 30's. Not a scatch, not a spark either.Needs some points, and so do I. Any help or connections would be great, summers coming and the fish are calling. |
