I am wondering if more is known about this engine. I did find the attached paragraph in the magazine Fore �n� Aft, volume II No.9 from April, 1907 (page 65). Is there anything else out there? I have never run across that magazine before; it is a wealth of information. Thank you.

Having grew up in a house between Nawigewauk and Passekeag I find the name Naumkeag appealing. |

Dick Briggs emailed me to see if there was any more information on this engine !
From scattered notes it seems that Zina Goodell was a Blacksmith and machinist, the above article dates him back to 1836 ?
1890 he was issued several patents for elevators.
Around the turn of the century he was listed as a machinist and garage and was issued several patents on punching machines & related Die holders.
I don't have much info on the marine engines, this 1906 ad refers to a 1905 race won with a NaumKeag engine, so they were made possibly a year or two earlier ??

The ad shows what looks to be a piston activated igniter ? and could possibly be a water pump driven from behind the flywheel ?? Dick's engine has water pump aft.
The Flywheel in the ad has a heavy outer rim and does not have the counter balanced wheel as in Dicks engine photos above ?
I only know of two of these engines to exist, if there are others please let me know !
