We are rebuilding/restoring/refurbishing C.C. Galbraith 17' runabout (looks like a Lyman) with a Gray Marine Phantom Six - 104, S/N D-7842. Can anyone tell me the age of the engine? Where can I obtain a manual for same? Where to obtain parts? Where can I obtain information about the boat? I do know that it was manufactured in Keyport, N.J.

The D in the serial number means it was built in 1946, 47, 48 or 49. I have some literature for Gray Marine engines and I will look to see if any of it relates to the Six-104.

I have owners manuals for the years I posted but they are used and are not engine-specific. They cover 4 and 6 cyl Gray Marine engines. |

I have bought a new old century boat...it has a 135 gray marine 6 cylinder engine...with the serial number G18252 on the top....i dont know the year of the boat yet..(no title) nor can i find numbers on it..but if i can get the year of the engine thad be great! its original to the boat.. and im having trouble finding any lists for engine years anywhere online...} |

G prefix serial numbers run 1954 through 1956. Try [email protected] or Google it |

centuryboatclub.com does a good job showing locations of serial numbers for various Century models and years. Is yours a 16 ft Resorter model- serial number begins with letter M ? |

I am new to the forum and am following up on questions asked by NWH. We have test run the engine on a test stand, it sounds good with good compression, a good day! I would like to follow up on the posting by Jim Anderson indicating that he had copies of Gray manuals that covered the immediate post war years (46.47 and 48). How can I establish direct contact with Jim? |

Bill, SN D-7842 indicates it is a Gray Marine Model 104,and as Jim said it was made in 1946 thru 1949. I have a copy of a service bulletin if you would like, listing all the gray marine serial numbers, etc |
