I'm trying to pull my, I think they are 327's, out of my 1966, 31' Owens Flagship. I'm not familiar with this type of motor mounts. In fact, I don't see anyway to get them apart other than unscrew the base from the wood stringer. The bottom mount is about 8" long. It is slanted down towards the stern with a slot going the length. There is one square headed adjusting bolt on top. I realize that this design is for getting the engine and the transmission in perfect alignment. Do you take out the square adjusting bolt to get the two halves apart so that the engine can be pulled up? Or????

There is no telling if my motors and yours are the same. What you do is find out the oil capacity of your engine(s). Drain and change your oil adding the proper amount by the book. Remember, there is a different amount to bring it up to full if you change the filter. Once you've done that, it will be relatively easy to make a dipstick and mark the full level. Good luck.
