Like a silly twit I didn't ask questions of the owner. He was fully engaged with others. Can anyone tell me what the "garden taps" facing out, and the bowls with stop cocks are for. |

They are for compression relief when starting. |

The bowls are for priming the engine prior to starting. Looks like a nice rig. |

I like the chain coupling - it would certainly solve minor alignment issues.
And it is interesting that the grease cups for and aft are on the opposite side of the engine compared to the middle one.
Also, the surge bowl on the water pump is new to me.

Be nice to me (I took grade 9 auto 45 years ago)
How do I start it? Is the fly wheel spun with a removable device? What about carburetion? Is it hidden on the other side? |
