We have a custom made antivibration coupling on the propeller shaft of a MD2B with RB box. This coupling is made of two flanges and conical antivibration mounts (rubber). It is attached because the engine ran out of gear due to the thrust of the propeller. It works great for more than 30 years.

While sailing ahead with the gearbox in forward the gearbox sometimes spontaneously shifted into neutral. According to my late father in law the thrust of the propeller caused that fenomena. What I have understood is that it had something to do with a recoil force in the gearbox. Thats why he placed a self made flexible propeller shaft coupling. It absorbs the driveline vibrations but is still rigid enough to transmit the (damped) propeller thrust to the RB-reverse gearbox that needs the thrust for good functioning. The undesirable shifting was over after this improvement. I made some pictures tonight.
