WOULD ANY ONE OF YOU KNOW WHERE I COULD GET INFORMATION ON INDUSTRIAS FITA, A SPANISH DIESEL ENGINE COMPANY WHICH DISCONTINUED PRODUCTION IN '74?
I OWN A 1947 ENGINE FROM THIS MANUFACTURER AND WOULD LIKE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH SPANISH VINTAGE DIESEL ENTHUSIASTS OR GET A COPY OF THE TECH MANUAL FOR MY ENGINE. MANY THANX

The only indigenous engine maker in Spain was Diter (Diaz de Terran) based at Zafra, not far from Granada.

They are owned by Deutz these days, and don't have much, if anything, to do with the older engines.

There are no Spanish collectors that I know of, we have made three trips with the trailer to bring back old iron, most of it was Lister as that was what sold there the most.

I don't know of any contacts that could help on the Spanish engine side, I always have to run blind whenever I go there, but Deutz-Diter is still there (we went past the factory in October 2002)

I own a Deutz D7476 engine which I intend to rebuild and show at the various vintage engine shows around Shetland. Can anyone help with information regarding the original paint colour , and paint scheme. Apart from painting the engine is now complete.

Fita manufactured engines from their factory in Figueres...
The company still exists though does not manufacture any more. Senor Fita is still alive and well and often visits being still a shareholder. There is no information 'officially' within the company of the òld days' but the former production manager is still around.
Try contacting:
Francisco Bonanat (Head of Technical Department - Industrias Fita) [email protected]

Good luck
