Hi all, I have (2) Chrysler Crown marine engines, and I don't know alot about them..one is in a ship lifeboat my father left me, both complete and appear to be in great shape. I also found a place that sent me a cd manual for them, but can't find it. Anyone know where I may have gotten it? I haven't started either yet, I will be this summer. I will try to sell one with the lifeboat, and the other separate..but what are they worth, and is there a following for these types of engines? Thanks! |

Hello, You should have no problem getting manuals for the Crown engine. Go to the ACBS web site and you will find lots of links that can help. There are many iterations of the Crown engine. If you can post the serial numbers on the plate which is located on the rear Starboard side of the engine that will help. Also, depending on which engine you have I would be interested in purchasing the extra engine. Value depends alot on actual condition. A complete fresh profesional rebuilt engine will go for $3-5000.00. Lots of problems can be hidden in an original engine. Cracked blocks and manifolds are comon. Prices can vary from 500 to 2500. |

Hey Dave, Thanks for the speedy response..so it seems that these engines do have a demand. With that in mind, I will be evaluating them next week, and will post my progress. I'm anticipating I will need input from the folks on this forum, although my father, who has passed, was very knowledgeable on these engines, and took very good care of them..they should be well maintained. So I looked at the plate on the engine not in the lifeboat and it shows: Type M 27...then R, then serial #5377 S. It's dark where I have it stored so pictures are hard to take. I will be pulling it out to have a better look and get some pics soon. Both engines have drives as well. |

Hello again. Looks like you have a 47 to 49 250.6 engine. Attached is the listing for Crowns and other Chrsler inboard engines. Due to limits on attachments I had to send the list as 2 files. This is too early for my application but I'm sure there are alot of people that will be interested. |
