I am looking for a used head and sleeve for a G model Saab 10 hp inboard diesel? I know where to get new parts, but they are rather pricey! |

help, i have a sabb 2jh, 30hp, twin, ex, M.O.D. it is fully reconned to navy spec, and never used, but was sat in a crate for 20 years, it is now installed in my new narrowboat at the boatbuilders, and today 25th sept 08, they could not get it started, they said that they was too much air coming through with the fuel at the top end, my boatbuilder who is no expert, reconds it might be the fuel pump, it had clean oil in the engine, when i purchased it, along with a certificate, from SAVAGES the main sabb dealer at the time, stating it had been reconned to navy spec, anyone got any info , it would be greatly recieved, cheers baza |

Sabb 2jh, 30hp, twin- Wow- you have to take pictures for us. Never seen a 30 HP Sabb. Are these 2 engines connected. A Sabb 2 H is 18 HP ( I have 2 of them). Too much air coming into the injectors: Do you have the owners manual ( service manual for navy application may also exist. does not exist for commercial - just some service memos) I would start by putting an in-line squeeze pump at the tank, , pressurize the system, then bleed the air out at the injectors- do this several times, start with the longest line first. |

jimdereynier, you can see pics of a Sabb at the web site, i think it was called, SABB THE CLASSIC MARINE ENGINE, i missed a letter off the engine type, its a Sabb 2jhr, its a 30hp twin, its says on the web site , how long it was in production for, my boatbuilder had most of today trying to get it started, he did pressure it up etc, i was wondering wether it has affected the engine, been stood for so long, it had been in a crate, in a naval stores, cheers baza |

Can anyone help? I have a Sabb 8hp single cylinder diesel in a 14 foot river launch. I have fitted the engine with rubber engine mounts on the main engine brackets, and directly to the oak engine bed with the g/box mounts/brackets. Engine and shaft run well, but the engine has a lot of vibration! And I am concerned that it may damage the shaft (direct couple to the prop shaft). Can and should I fit the engine directly to the substantial oak frame to reduce the vibration? Would this reduce the vibration? Thanks |

Brian: you posted this on the page for Single cylinder Sabb 8G. I have manuals for the 8G and the 2 H.( 2 cylinder ) However you should first explore: They may have pdf manuals for the engines here: http://www.frydenbosabb.no/ Manuals from SABB, Norway use to be available from SABB online http://www.frydenbosabb.no/index.php?mapping=0 Click on the British flag- upper right corner- Frydenbo must have bought SABB so I not sure what is available. Also check out the Great Britain Sabb dealer Seeman-hawken- terrific web site. http://www.sleeman-hawken.co.uk/files/service-and-maintanence-tips.pdf Attached is pdf on how to ID your Sabb engine
