Motorcanoe, Here is a 1905 Gidley ad from Rod and Gun as posted on Denis Rouleau's site. http://buzzcoil.brinkster.net/MARINE/pageg01.html The engine might not run very well laying down like that, but it would lower your center of gravity. The editor must have thought that it fit on the page better that way... . . |

Thank you for posting the ad. I have managed to find some information on the Gidley Company but have not seen this before. To find a Gidley motor for the launch would be a miracle! |
