My Sabb 2HG has no air filter and I have the feeling that the previous one was re-usable. Does anyone know where I can find one of these or a suitable replacement? |

Air Filter for Sabb 2HG. I asked the same question to Bill Miller,Sabb America. He said the filter does not exist and I should not baby the engine. I did look at some possible filters but worried about changing the amount of vacuum. The air cleaner housing is still a valuable tool. In one this year's " Good Old Boat" magazine was an article about how to shut down a run-away diesel engine- plug the air inlet hole. regards, [email protected] |

My friend has a narrow boat with a Sabb 2H 18hp two cylinder diesel engine. There is no air filter in the muffler housing. Should there be one ? If so what should be fitted ? A manufacturer and part number would be really helpful. Regards Erik [email protected] |

There is no filter element. But you should take the time to get the filter cover. If you ever have a run away engine, you can plug the filter with a 3/4" rubber plug. Take the measurements for the lip on the intake manifold where the filter cover latches on. Last week I saw a Volvo 2 or 3 cylinder engine with what looked like the same air filter can. |
