Robert, Thanks for responding. The output shaft on my YT-2 is 1 1/8". I expect the original reverser probably had input and output shafts in the 1 1/8" to 1 5/16" range. I have never seen a Palmer YT-2 reverser and never expect to so I am looking for a suitable substitute. I am not locked into a Joe's Gear. I have a heavy duty Joe's Gear on a 16hp Knox engine and I simply like the look of that style. |

Could be just my impression, but there don't seem to be many loose gears around except Baldridge and Gies. I have one small Joes Gear which I believe was sold as a stand alone unit, but it seems like the two cycle users didn't bother and those who wanted one bought four cycle engines that had already had gears. I'll measure it when I'm next where it's stored, but I think it has a 3/4 or 7/8 output shaft. Have no idea what the input is. Years ago I posted photos of a Snow & Petrelli brochure that listed the various sizes and their dimensions. |
