Hi. I picked up a Blakely boat motor today. the brass tag says, Blakey Engine Co. Muskegon Michigan. Type B. Engine # 148.The enging is in very good condition. Any info on this old motor would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Mark |

I also Have a Blakely outboard, and a grey Gearless, they used the same power head. Is yours an inboard engine, If so I have never seen one and would be very interested in seeing some pictures |

I saw a 1915 Grey Gearless 2 stroke outboard engine in Tellus Museum in Carterville, Ga, today.
The drive shaft to the propeller was curved. What material did they use in the early 1900's to allow continuous flexible drive through a gentle 90 degree angle?

Kevin they used a series of swivel joint with
grease inside the down tube. I have one apart out in the shop I'm restoring |

The motor I have is the detchable row boat motor. The motor is in very good shape. Having a hard time trying to find out any information on blakley motors. How many were made ? How long were they made ? Ect... There are pics of my motor on jack craib's web site. Thanks |
