Has anyone ever heard, know the whereabouts of, or have a Loew-Knight inboard engine? This was a 6cyl, double-sleeve valve engine such as used in the Willys-Knight and a 100 other makes of cars.
Would like to locate one of these engines and any literature for it. |

Charlie: Check with marine engine guru Dan Acierno on Long Island-I think this engine is one of his "hot Buttons" 516-567-8918 days. I have a Loew 4cyl T- head circa 1915 but valves are convential. |

I HAVE RARE PHOTOS AND CATALOGS OF LOEW KNIGHT MARINE ENGINES. THEY OFFERED A 4 AND 6 CYLINDER MODEL. THE 6 WAS CALLED THE SILENT KNIGHT. BUFFALO ALSO BUILT ENGINES UTILIZING KNIGHTS SLEEVE VALVE PRINCIPLE.WHEN A COMPANY PURCHASED RIGHTS TO KNIGHTS PRICIPLE, THEY ALSO WERE REQUIRED TO USE HIS NAME ON THE FINISHED PRODUCT. HENCE, LOEW KNIGHT STEANS KNIGHT WILLYS KNIGHT,ETC. |

I have a 4 cyl T-head Loew marine engine. I saw a simular engine for sale at the Clayton Antique Boat museum boat show/flea market a few years ago. I need a replacement exhaust manifold. Does anyone recall who the vender may have been or have any leads on who may have a like engine to mine? |

Hi, i have just purchased a boat from the sales of the hurricane sandy sales in NY, can any one tell me the best way to check the engine and if it was flooded can it be overhauled, i dont know if it was flooded thank you |
